History was made 70 years ago today when the world's first bikini made an appearance at a poolside fashion show in Paris.
French engineer, Louis Réard, invented it in 1946 The only problem that Réard faced was finding a model brave enough to wear his invention.
Thankfully, a nude dancer by the name of Micheline Bernardini was up for the challenge. On July 11 1946, Micheline became the first women to wear a bikini, during a press show in Paris.
