Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau has resurfaced in a newly released video barely weeks after another new leader was announced.
Shekau is appearing for the first time since March 2016.
In the 24-minutes video, Shekau who spoke in Hausa and Arabic. Below is an excerpt from the video:
“I, Abubakar Ash-Shakawy (Shekau), the leader of Jama’atu Ahlissunnah Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, made it a duty for myself to fight Nigeria and the whole world. We have no desire to fight our Muslim brethren. I’m alive by the permission of Allah.”
