Residents of Ilorin, Kwara State capital, forced the Shoprite located there to shut its door after a mammoth crowd stormed their store for the public holiday, during the early hours of today.

According to eyewitnesses, when the crowd became out of control, the retail store’s management had to take measures by quickly shutting their doors to prevent a stampede.

This didn’t deter the residents as most of them stayed put, waiting for their turn.
